AMicron Count

Deduct 10 points or fraction thereof
for every micron over the 26 micron maximum15

bSTandard Deviation
(deduct 5 points or fraction there of for every 0.5 micron over maximum  15
17.0OR LESS MAX SD =   3.5
17.1-19.0MAX SD = 4.0
19.1-21.0MAX SD = 4.5
21.1-23.0MAX SD = 5.0
23.1 AND ABOVEMAX SD 5.5

C pERCENTAGE OF fIBRE OVER 30 MICRONS15

(DEDUCT 5 PTS OR FRACTION THERE OF FOR EVERY PERCENTAGE POINT OF 5% OF FLEECE
EG 7% OF FLEECE OVER 30 MICRONS MEANS THAT 10 POINTS ARE DEDUCTED
So if your Comf Fact, is 95%no points deducted
94%deduct 5 points
93%deduct 10 points
92%deduct 15 points-you can only loose 15 points on this so anything under 92%, cannot pass

When exporting to the Uk, and most other EU countries.
The alpacas  have to meet a strict screening process, in the country of Origin.
PLease make sure when selecting your alpacas that they meet these strict Screening criteria. Please note when the fibre is being screened, the fibre is sent to Yocum McCall in the US, where a BUTT sample is taken, so in other words the sample is tested at the time of the growth, not as the traditional fleece sampling where the whole length of the fibre is tested. In many cases, this butt sample can be up to 6 microns higher than our traditional fleece sampling tests. No consideration at this stage is for age, so all animals have to meet these fleece criterias, no matter if pregnant, working, or how old the animal is.WORKED OUT ON A POINT SYSTEM.
